John Sachs

John Sachs is an award-winning broadcaster, writer and producer whose career spans radio, television, theatre and film. He is Chairman of Eclipse Films, having succeeded his longtime friend Brian Berg.

Beginning his career in radio, John worked with stations including Capital Radio and BBC Radio 2 before moving into television, where he helped develop and write ITV's hugely successful Gladiators, becoming the show's commentator and recognisable voice for eight years.

His extensive television career includes producing Dancing on Ice, An Audience with Freddie Starr, Four Square and The Brian Conley Show, alongside supervising the internationally acclaimed animated series Robotboy. He has also written and produced hundreds of commercials and co-authored two bestselling books with Piers Morgan.

In theatre, John has produced three musicals: Last Night a DJ Saved My Life, starring David Hasselhoff; Son of a Preacher Man, directed by Craig Revel Horwood; and the award-winning In Dreams, written by David West Read and directed by Luke Sheppard.

John’s film credits began with Al Pacino’s award-winning 2004 adaptation of The Merchant of Venice, on which he served as music and marketing supervisor. His first feature film as a producer, Urban Hymn, was directed by Michael Caton-Jones and starred Letitia Wright and Shirley Henderson. The film premiered at the 2015 Toronto International Film Festival and earned John and fellow producer Andrew Berg a nomination at the 2016 British Independent Film Awards.

Through Eclipse Films, John continues to develop and produce distinctive film and television projects, working with established and emerging creative talent to bring compelling stories to the screen.
